  • ELEVATOR PITCH | XVII EDITION

On Tuesday 3rd December we held the XVII edition of our Elevator Pitch networking event at The Haciendas Co.,  member of the Spanish Chamber. This event focused on expanding the network of the attending companies and exploring synergies among them. On this occasion 11 companies took part in the edition.

Part of the success of this format is that there are 16 places available and only one participant per company can attend and a maximum of two companies from the same sector can be represented at the event. Therefore, those who take part in this activity ensure that they are able to speak to every other attendee and be able to leave the room with all their business cards.

This Elevator Pitch was hosted at The Haciendas Co., as their premises fitted perfectly with this event.  The Haciendas Co. is a Spanish Wine Merchant, but also they also have a ground floor restaurant Zorita’s Kitchen where it is possible to taste their wines as well as their organic products produced by their farm in Zaragoza. This venue is located on the Thames riverside bank which boasts impressive views over the Tate Modern, the Millennium Bridge and the Globe theatre.

On arrival, the attendees had the opportunity to get to know each other while enjoying a breakfast provided by the hosting company and displayed on several wine barrels; a different and creative twist.  Our Secretary General Igor Urra and Rubén Fernández, Head of Foreign Trade & Business Development; were the moderators of the event and led the participants from the start, explaining the various parts of this activity.

To begin with, each attendee had 2 minutes to give a concise, well-made presentation about their company’s activity and line of business. After this first round to introduce their respective businesses, there was a second one in which the participants could ask questions to the rest of attendees. Everyone had the opportunity to chat afterwards and further network over breakfast to explore avenues of collaboration with other attendees.

In this edition of the Elevator Pitch the following sectors were represented: Translation, Legal Services, Banking and Financial Services, International Consultancy, Executive Coaching, Events, Wine and Spirits, Online Services and Recruitment.

We would very much like to thank all the professionals who were part of the XVII edition of the Elevator Pitch. We look forward to seeing you at another event soon.

  • A Different Halloween Night with a Spanish Twist

On Thursday 31st October we held an informal Halloween Party in collaboration with our member The Haciendas Co. The event took place at their venue on the Thames riverside bank which boasts impressive views over the Tate Modern, the Millennium Bridge and the Globe theatre.

Guests enjoyed great views as well as delicious Spanish food during our Halloween Party.

Our members and their guests had the opportunity to spend one of the most exciting nights of the year tasting a delicious selection of wines and cured meats, sourced from The Haciendas Co organic farm in Salamanca, Spain.

The mood among attendees was very jolly, creating a very positive networking atmosphere for all. The party was indeed very lively and many guests commented about the exceptional products on offer and the impressive views from the venue –which was one of the highlights of the evening.

Attendees were not afraid to network on the scariest night of the year.

Before the party ended, Ms. Lucy Mounter and Ms. Macarena Martínez, from The Haciendas Co., addressed our guests in order to thank them for their attendance and to announce the prize draw.

The lucky winners of the evening were Ms. Iris Cepeda, who bagged a wine tasting for two, and Mr. Paul Rafferty who took home a 3-bottle case of   “Magister 2009, Hacienda Zorita Marqués de la Concordia” (retail price £150). Both prizes were kindly offered by The Haciendas Co and we are sure they will be greatly enjoyed.

After the prize draw, guests moved to the downstairs bar and outside terrace, where they kept enjoying the evening and the exceptional views of the London skyline.
