  • ELEVATOR PITCH | XXVI EDITION

    On Thursday 30th June, we held the XXVI edition of our Elevator Pitch networking event. This edition took place at Kantox, member of the Spanish Chamber, whose premises are outstandingly located in the heart of The City of London.

    On this occasion, Mr. Brad Newton welcomed everyone on behalf of Kantox and Igor Urra, our Secretary General and Nerea Esgueva, Corporate Relations Manager, explained the dynamics of this activity to the attendees, whose main purpose is to provide participants with the possibility to expand their network and to explore further avenues of collaboration with the rest of participants.

    Should you be interested in participating in the next edition of this networking event, there are just a couple of things you need to know regarding this format: Usually there are up to 16 participant companies, and only one representative per company is allowed. However, it is possible to have up to two companies from the same business sector. Therefore, attendees are able to meet a wide variety of companies from different sectors and exchange their business cards.

    On this occasion, there was a wide variety of sectors represented among the 15 companies that took part in this edition: Arbonne International (Health and Wellness), Banco Popular (Banking Financial Services), Bluefin Insurance Services (Insurance), Docexpresso (Communications, IT and Networks), F-Initiatives (Banking and Financial Services), Grupo Konecta (Business Consultancy Services), H10 London Waterloo (Hotels and Accommodation), Haymarket Risk Management (Business Consultancy Services), Kantox (Foreign Exchange), Mindjuicer Communications (Advertising and Marketing), Preiskel & Co (Legal Services), Safe Computing (Communications, IT and Networks), Stonehealth (Health), The London School of English (Language Services) and We Find Group (Recruitment Agency).

    After the round of questions, everyone had the opportunity to chat and continue networking over a delicious breakfast provided by the host company.

  • SUMMER HAS ENDED, BUT OUR EVENTS HAVE JUST STARTED!

    Although the gloomy weather has taken over nothing can stop our busy calendar of events. The first activity will be the XVII edition of the Graduate European Programme, which offers university graduates the opportunity to undertake work experience in London during 6 months. The programme officially starts on 14th September with the Induction Week, when participants will attend different talks and visit various companies and institutions.

    On Wednesday 23rd September, it is time for a new edition of the popular International Wine and Spirits Tasting networking event. In this case, CODORNIU RAVENTÓS, Patron of the Chamber, will be providing the Spanish wines. The event will be organised in collaboration with another 12 chambers of commerce in London so don’t miss this chance to enjoy a truly international evening and register right now!     Also, on 7th October another edition of our successful Elevator Pitch will be hosted at LA TASCA, one of our members. For those of you that have never attended, this event provides participants the opportunity to explore synergies among one another, but they only have 2 minutes each to introduce their companies. This is a way of exploring new avenues of collaboration and meet like-minded professionals. Click here for further information.

    But if you do not really like to network, a few days after, on the 13th October, in collaboration with AVOCETS CONSULTING, members of the chamber, we have the right event for you: Networking for people who don’t like networking. This activity will improve your abilities to communicate with confidence when meeting someone new, create a presence, and most importantly it will give you useful tips to convert contacts into referrals.     If networking gets too tiring and you need a relaxing, but also interesting afternoon, we have the perfect combination. Our Afternoon Tea in the luxurious BENTLEY HOTEL, member of the Spanish Chamber, will be on Monday 19th October. The event will be led by the expert in protocol Richard Birtchnell, Toastmaster and Past President of the prestigious Society of London Toastmasters, who will talk about the traditions and etiquette of the Afternoon Tea.     Finally, on 22nd October we will have a seminar led by BLICK ROTHENBERG, member of the chamber. This activity will focus on different aspects of taxes and exemptions for expats living in the UK. Save the date for this event, more information will be soon available on our website.

    On Wednesday 20th May, we held the XXIII edition of our Elevator Pitch networking event. This edition took place at Boqueria, in the heart of Battersea, member of the Spanish Chamber. Jerusalén Gunning, Public Relations of the restaurant, welcomed everyone on behalf of Boqueria and led the attendees to the bright and elegant room where the event took place.

    On this occasion the event was chaired by Cristina Carmona, Head of Corporate Relations and Communication, who started the event explaining the dynamics of this activity to the participants; María Prieto, Events and Communication Co-ordinator and Irati Díaz de Tuesta, from the Information and Promotion Department. After the brief presentation, each attendee had 2 minutes to give a concise and concrete introduction about their company’s main line of activity and services they provided. Having done so, there was a second opportunity for each participant to ask and be asked several questions.

    For those of you that have never attended nor heard of the Elevator Pitch, the main purpose of this event is to provide participants with the possibility to expand their network and to explore synergies as well as further avenues of collaboration with the rest of participants.

    On Tuesday 24th March, we held the XXII edition of our Elevator Pitch networking event. This edition took place at the H10 London Waterloo Hotel, member of the Spanish Chamber.

    Nerea Nuñez, Sales Manager of H10, welcomed everyone on behalf of H10 London Waterloo Hotel and accompanied the attendees to an inviting venue with wonderful views of the city.

    On this occasion the event was chaired by Jesús Agra, Foreign Trade Manager, and Igor Urra, Secretary General, who started the event explaining the dynamics of this activity to the participants.  Afterwards, each attendee had 2 minutes to give a concise introduction about their company’s main line of activity and services they provided. Having done so, there was a second opportunity for each participant to ask questions to others.

    On Tuesday 10th June, we held the XIX edition of our Elevator Pitch. This edition took place at the Four Seasons Park Lane Hotel, member of the Spanish Chamber. The hotel is located within the prestigious area of Hyde Park with excellent views and great communications

    On this occasion Igor Urra, Secretary of the Spanish Chamber, and Cristina Carmona, Head of Corporate Relations and Communication, led the session for all the participating companies whiles Mr. Biagio Gaeta welcomed everyone on behalf of Four Seasons.

    For those of you that have never attended one or do not know how The Elevator Pitch works; there are just a couple of things you need to know before signing up for it the next time. In first place, there is a maximum of 16 places available and only one participant per company can attend. Besides, only up to two companies from the same sector are able to attend each edition.

    During the event, each attendee had 2 minutes to give a concise presentation about their company’s activity and line of business.

    After this first round to introduce their respective businesses, there was a second round in which each participant had the opportunity to ask questions to the rest of attendees.
    Afterwards, everyone continued to network while enjoying a delicious breakfast offered by the hotel.

  • ELEVATOR PITCH – XVIII EDITION

    On Tuesday 25th February we held the XVIII edition of our Elevator Pitch. On this occasion our member  MeliáWhite House Hotel kindly hosted the event. The hotel is located within a prestigious area minutes away from Regent’s Park with great connections thanks to its  proximity to Great Portland Street station.

    The Elevator Pitch focuses on expanding the professional network of the attending companies and provides an excellent opportunity to explore synergies and avenues of collaboration among them. For the XVIII edition there were a total of  17 companies from the following sectors: : Accounting, Translation, Communication, Language services, Training, Coaching, Fashion, Food, Events, Marketing, Legal Services, Business Suppliers, Real Estate and Foreign Direct Investment.

    For those of you that have never attended one or do not know how it works, there are just a couple of things you need to know regarding this format: usually there are up to 16 participant companies, and only one representative per company is allowed. However, it is possible to have up to two companies from the same business sector. Therefore, attendees are able to meet a wide variety of companies from different sectors and the best part is that everyone gest to take back to the office the business card of each participant.

    The event was chaired by our Secretary General, Igor Urra, and our Head of Foreign Trade and Business Development, Rubén Fernández,  who started the event explaining the dynamics of this activity to the participants.  Then, they gave the floor to each attendee, which had 2 minutes to give a concise introduction about their company’s main line of activity and services they provided. After this first round, there was a second one in which the participants could ask questions to each other.

    Afterwards, everyone had the opportunity to chat and continue networking over a delicious breakfast that the venue served for everyone.
